Wall Funeral Services staff members continue to serve the families of southeast Kansas in their times of need. Our caring professionals understand that each family is unique and each has unique needs to fulfill their family’s requests and traditions. Our family of dedicated professionals includes seven full time staff and many part time employees, all who consider it a privilege to serve our area with the dignity and respect for which we stand.

Gary Wall has been a funeral director in Parsons since 1966 and with his original partner, Jack Burris, opened the Burris-Wall Funeral Home in January of 1966.  He is a Parsons native and graduated from Parsons High School in 1957, Parsons Junior College in 1959 and Pittsburg State University in 1962.  He received a certificate in mortuary science from the University of Kansas in 1963.   He is active in church, the Rotary Club and several other community activities and continues to help at the funeral home on an almost daily basis.  He and his wife, Shirley, have three children and seven grandchildren.e is   He

Ned Wall has worked around the funeral home from an early age.  He graduated from Parsons High School in 1998, Labette Community College in 2000 and Pittsburg State University in 2022.  He has a son and a daughter and is involved in several community organizations, including Rotary.

Marty Mendicki Funeral Director martym@wallfuneralservices.com

Marty Mendicki, a Parsons native, started working at the funeral home during his high school days.  He graduated from Parsons High School, Labette Community College and the University of Central Oklahoma Department of Funeral Service.  He is very active in church, Lions Club and numerous other organizations.  He returned to full time employment of the funeral home in 1997.  He is serving as president of the Kansas Funeral Director’s Association in the 2024-2025 year.

Justin Brown is a Parsons native and graduated from Parsons High School in 1997 and attended Labette Community College and Emporia State University.  He graduated from the University of Central Oklahoma Department of Funeral Service.  He has been on our funeral home staff since 2000.  He has a daughter and two sons and is active in the Kiwanis Club and other organizations.

Kelsee Yarnell, our Office Administrator, grew up in the Mound Valley area and now lives in Erie.  She graduated from Labette County High School in 2009 and attended Labette Community College.   She and her husband, Keith, have one daughter.

Brian May is a native of Altamont, Kansas and has been on the staff of the funeral home since 1986 He is funeral director and manager of the Smith-Carson-Wall location in Girard.   He is a graduate of Labette County High School in Altamont, Labette Community College and received his funeral service education from the Kansas City, Kansas Community College.   He is the father of three grown children.

Rick Prideaux, a native of Girard, works part time at the Girard funeral home and is retired from the Craw-Kan Telephone Company.  He is an ordained minister in the Nazarene Church.  He and his wife, Diane, have two children, five grandchildren and five great-grandchildren.

Hal Redford Pre-Arrangement Counselor

Hal Redford has lived in Parsons since 1976 and retired from Ray Products in 2012 after thirty-seven years.  He works part time at the funeral home as a pre-need counselor and also helps on services.  He is active in church and the Rotary Club.  He and his wife, Judy, have three grown sons and six grandchildren.

Taylor Blackburn Maintenance Director

Taylor Blackburn is a lifelong Parsonian and graduated from Parsons High School in 2007.  He started working at the funeral home in his high school days and has been full time since graduation.  He is in charge of maintaining the buildings and grounds of several of our locations.  He is the father of a daughter and two sons.
