A Dedicated Staff
We are a staff of five licensed funeral directors who recognize meaningful services just don’t happen. They are events that demand focused planning, commitment, and the guidance of licensed professionals to provide meaningful tributes. Our funeral directors are equipped with the knowledge and expertise to guide families through the planning process for services that provide comfort for grieving families.

 

Exceptional and spacious facilities
We offer facilities that provide a spacious and comfortable atmosphere. Our facilities in Parsons and Girard allow us to serve multiple families concurrently and can accommodate large services. Our Parsons facilities offer a community room and the Wall Family Center (adjacent to the funeral home) that may be used for family gatherings for any occasion and meetings for various civic and community groups.

 

Personalized services for personalized needs
We know that the death of a loved one brings a unique grieving process and experience to each person. We are prepared to meet the needs of each family to provide personalized services that are unique to each family’s grieving experience. Our funeral directors and staff will work with you and your family to provide services that exceed your expectations. Since no two lives are the same there is no standard way of grieving the loss of a loved one. We strive to provide your family the unique and personalized care and service that reflects the life of your loved one.

 

Culture of hospitality
We realize that families and friends gather most often for funerals and weddings. That is why our staff and facilities are dedicated and designed to create a comfortable environment where family and friends can visit and share memories. Refreshments are often available during visitations as a part of or amenities. Also kitchen facilities are available at our Wall Family Center and Parsons location for catering services.

Professional Development
We are members of the National Funeral Directors Association, Kansas Funeral Directors Association, and Selected Independent Funeral Homes. These organizations provide essential continuing education and professional development through informative seminars and courses that are required to main Kansas Funeral Establishment, Funeral Directors and Embalmers licenses. Additionally, these organizations provide informative resources and ideas that allow us to better serve your family’s needs.

Our funeral homes make no representations or warranties regarding caskets, outer burial containers, mausoleums, or other funeral merchandise sold by the funeral home other than those made by the manufacturers. The only warranties expressed or implied, granted in connection with goods sold with these funeral homes, are the expressed written warranties, if any, given by the respective manufacturers. No warranties expressed or implied, including the implied warranties of merchantability or fitness for a particular purpose are extended by the funeral home.

The goods and services shown below are those we can provide to our customers. You may choose only those items you desire. However, any arrangements you select will include a charge for our basic services and overhead. If legal or other requirements mean you must purchase any items you specifically did not ask for, then we will explain the reason in writing on the statement describing the funeral goods and services you selected. These prices are effective January 1, 2023 and are subject to change without notice.


 

SERVICES

 

Basic Professional Services of Funeral Director and Staff$2,820.00

Our charge for basic professional services of funeral director and staff includes, but is not limited to, arrangements consultation with the family or responsible party; staff and facilities to respond to the initial requests for service; coordinating service plans with cemetery, crematory, and/or other parties involved in the final disposition of the deceased, securing official documents and necessary registrations, placement of obituary notices and sheltering of the deceased. This fee for our basic services will be added to the total cost of the funeral arrangements you select. (This fee is already included in our charges for direct cremations, immediate burials, anatomical gifts, and forwarding or receiving remains.)

 

Embalming$900.00

Except in certain cases, embalming is not required by law. Embalming may be necessary, however, if you select certain funeral arrangements, such as a funeral with viewing. If you do not want embalming, you usually have the right to choose an arrangement which does not require you to pay for it, such as a direct cremation or immediate burial.

Direct Cremation$2,900.00

Our charge for a direct cremation (without ceremony) includes the initial transfer of the deceased from the place of death to the funeral home, use of refrigeration unit, transportation to the crematory, the cremation process, an alternative container, and basic professional services of the funeral director and staff. If you want to arrange a direct cremation, you can use an alternative container. Alternative containers encase the body and can be made of materials like fiberboard or composition materials (with or without an outside covering). The containers we provide are constructed plywood and fiberboard.

Our charge for an immediate burial (without ceremony) includes the initial transfer of the deceased from the place of death to the funeral home, use of refrigeration facilities, and the basic professional services of the funeral director and staff.

Anatomical Donation$2,115.00

Our charge for an anatomical donation includes the basic professional services of the funeral director and staff, transfer of the deceased from the place of death to the funeral home, and transportation to the University of Kansas Medical Center.

 

Forwarding the Deceased to Another Funeral Home$3,140.00

This charge includes the initial transfer of the deceased from the place of death to our funeral home, embalming, the basic professional services of the funeral director and staff. This charge does not include merchandise, use of facilities, or shipping charges.

 

Receiving the Deceased from Another Funeral Home$2,795.00

This charge includes the basic professional services of the funeral director and staff. This charge does not include merchandise, use of facilities or service, or shipping charges.

PAYMENT POLICY

We understand that the loss of a loved one can be a traumatic experience. The arrangements that must be made can be overwhelming and emotions may influence the decision-making process. It is our desire that the arrangements that are made be a reflection of the family’s personal wishes and to remain within your budget. We believe that every life is worth honoring. Our staff will work you your family to create a meaningful and therapeutic tribute for your loved one. Thank you for allowing us to serve you.

We accept the following methods of payment prior to the service:

 

  • Pre-funded funeral arrangements.
  • Valid and verifiable life insurance assignment.
  • Financing through a financial institution or lending agency.
  • A cashier’s check, valid business or personal check, and/or cash.
  • A cashier’s check from the deceased’s bank account.
  • Debt Cards, Visa, Mastercard, Discover, and/or American Express

 

Except for pre-funded funeral arrangements, we do not extend credit or time payments in order to encourage families to select services and goods within their means. Our experience has proven that credit or time payments invariably lead to purchasing services and merchandise beyond the family’s means and will cause an unwanted financial hardship. Our payment policy is in the best interest of the family’s welfare. In the event our standard fees impose a financial hardship please make the funeral director aware of the situation and we will discuss plans that we have available to serve your needs.

 

Payment for cash advances items (i.e. sales tax, cemetery fees, gratuities, flowers, newspaper fees) are due at the time of the arrangements conference. We advance payment to these third parties as a convenience to the families we serve. You may issue payment directly to these third parties if you desire. Account balances that are more than 60 days past due to subject to be turned over to a collection agency.
