Obituary for Jerry Kinsch

Jerry B. Kinsch, 86, of Parsons, died at 11:14 p.m., Sunday, March 10, 2019 at his home. He had been in failing health.
He was born June 11, 1932, in Parsons, to Henry and Nettie (Wilkerson) Kinsch. He attended Parsons schools and in his youth worked as a caddy at the Katy Golf Course.
During the Korean War he served in the United States Army Signal Corps and was stationed in Japan. After the war he returned to Parsons where he started his employment years. He had worked for Russell Carter Auto, Melvin’s Auto Parts, at the Kansas Army Ammunition Plant as a carpenter, Massey Sales Co., Thornton Sales Co., and Great Plains Beverage Co. In 1980 he retired for health reasons.
Jerry attended the First Assembly of God Church and the Brown-Bishop Post No. l704, Veterans of Foreign Wars. He loved to do carpentry projects. On March 2, 1957 he and Vita Kinsch were married in Parsons. She survives.
Besides his wife he is survived by his son, Jerry W. Kinsch (Janet) of Parsons and his daughter, Terry L. Parsons (Mike) of McCune; brother, Danny Kinsch and sister, Lonva Dutton (Dean), both of Parsons; grandchildren, Joshua Kinsch (Karlee) of Parsons, Jeremy Kinsch of Altamont, Sarah Hallacy (Joe) of St. Paul, Michael Parsons (Brenda), Amy Campbell and Angie Conrad (Kellen); great-grandchildren Melaine Hallacy, Aubree Kinsch, Cooper Kinsch, Faelynne Kinsch, Addison Campbell, Evie Parsons, Tate Campbell, Emma Parsons, Zella Conrad and Georgia Conrad.
Preceding him in death is a grandson, Jared Scott Kinsch and siblings, Ralph Kinsch, Tori Wilson, Bonnie Kromke, Arthur Kinsch, Janice Abbott, Dave Kinsch, Hank Kinsch and Ike Kinsch.
Funeral services will be at 10:30 a.m., Friday, at the First Assembly of God Church, with Pastor Steve Crawford officiating. Burial will be in Memorial Lawn Cemetery with military honors given by Brown-Bishop Post # 704, Veterans of Foreign Wars.
The family will receive friends at the Carson-Wall Funeral Home from 6 to 7 p.m., Thursday. Memorials are suggested to either the First Assembly of God Church or St. Jude’s Hospital.
