Obituary for Bruce Allen Hays

Bruce A. Hays, 58, of Walnut, died Thursday morning, February 28, 2019 at his home. He had been in failing health the last few years but death was unexpected.
He was born June 26m 1960 in Wichita, Kansas to Norman and Evelyn (Brown) Hays. Bruce grew up in Stark and attended Stark Elementary School and attended Erie High School.
He had worked at Terra, Ag Choice and many trucking companies. Bruce enjoyed spending time with his grandchildren, riding motorcycles and drinking beer.
In 1977 he was married to Karla March. They later divorced. He and Rebecca Grillot were married on December 7, 1984 in Miami, Oklahoma. She preceded him in death on April 20, 2015.
Survivors include a son, Jeremy Hays; four daughters, Cassie Hays, Ashly Hays, and her companion, Justin Hernandez, Amber Hays and Abby Hays, all of Parsons. Ten grandchildren, Jacob Hays, Nathan Hays, Destany Adams, Danielle Matlock, Alexander Matlock, Wyatt Hernandez, Ryder Hernandez, Kristoffer Coppock, JayShon Wooden, DaMiek Hardick and one great-granddaughter, Augyst Adams; one brother, Ryan Hays, and his wife, Julie, of Walnut and a sister, Cindy Hamilton, and her husband, Dave, of Ft. Scott.
The family will host a Celebration of Life at 1:00 p.m., Saturday at the Grant Community Center in Stark. This event will be a potluck and family and friends are invited to attend.
