Funeral Service Date and Location

Following a private burial at Oakwood Cemetery the service will be held at 1 p.m., Thursday, October 31, 2013 at the St. John’s Episcopal Church in Parsons with The Reverend Sharon L. Billman and The Reverend Janet A. Chubb officiating. A reception will follow immediately in the parish hall.

 

Memorials

In lieu of flowers memorials are suggested to the St. Elizabeth’s Altar Guild.

Gertrude “Trudy” Fritz Lindemann, 95, of Parsons, died at 3:40 a.m., Monday, October 28, 2013 at the Good Samaritan Society in Parsons. She was born on April 28, 1918 at home in Joliet, Illinois to Johanna Anna Nauman and Herman Fritz. She grew up at Joliet and attended Joliet schools graduating from Joliet Township High School in 1936.

 

She and T. Edward Lindemann were married on March 9, 1942 at Joliet. He preceded her in death on September 24, 1996.

 

During World War II, she was employed by the Joliet Army Ammunition Plant. The family lived in Chicago, Illinois, Indianapolis, Indiana, Davenport, Iowa, and Joliet, Illinois before coming to Baxter Springs, Kansas in 1960. They moved to Parsons in 1962. Trudy worked at several different companies in Parsons over the years, including MFA Insurance, MARC, Inc., and Charles Prescription Shop.

 

For many years, she managed The Second Time Around Shop, an outreach program sponsored by St. John’s Episcopal Church. Trudy was a member of St. John’s Episcopal Church for over 50 years. She was the directress of St. Elizabeth’s Altar Guild for 40 years. She was a Pink Lady at LCMC and a volunteer at the Parsons Public Library. Trudy was an avid bridge player and was a member of several bridge clubs over the years. She also enjoyed doing needlework. She is survived by her children, Bruce Lindemann of Parsons, Scott Lindemann of Wichita, KS, and The Reverend Janet Chubb, and her husband, Gary of Parsons; her grandchildren, Valency Lindemann of Parsons, Samantha Alvord of Leon, KS, Dr. Taryn Chubb of Ada, OK and her fiancé, Dr. Mark White of Norman, OK, and Mark Chubb of Kansas City; three great-grandchildren.

 

In addition to her husband, The Reverend T. E. Lindemann, she was preceded in death by her parents, and two sisters, Eleanor Walker and Marjorie Feltes.
